Supplier Spotlight - Mrs W Tutus!

Hi there, who are you and what do you do? 

I'm Kate, Head Creative Lady at Mrs W Tutus! From the comfort of what used to be our dining room I hand make Tutus,Tutu Dresses, Tulle Crowns & Wands for Bridesmaids, Flower Girls & Fairy Princesses everywhere! 

What was the inspiration for starting your business? 

I graduated in 2000 with BA (Hons) in Fashion from University of Northampton and went on to make a number of Wedding Dresses for friends & family – I LOVED working within the Bridal market, so when my 3 Daughters came along it seemed like a logical progression to move my focus towards something for Children!! My Girls, or in­house Modelling Team as they are more often known, are really girly (although the smallest one does have a surprising love of Dinosaurs!) & love to dress up & twirl in the Garden so are a pretty endless source of inspiration! What makes you stand out from the crowd? My ability to cater to ANY colour scheme ­ because absolutely everything is Handmade by me, your Tutus can be made from any single or combination of the 30 colours of Tulle I have available!! I can also add ribbons, bows, sparkly bits, detachable Bustles & trains – just about anything you (or your little Princess) could Dream of really........ 

What are you tipping as the next “big thing” for weddings? 

TUTUS FOR EVERYONE!!! (*ahem*)..... I think that the current love for a Vintage theme/feel will continue to be extremely popular but I also think there is a definite move away from keeping things minimal & that there will be an increase in popularity for much more opulent, Fairy tale themed Weddings – both of which I can most DEFINITELY help you with!! 

Best advice for brides and grooms to be planning their wedding? 

Don't lose sight of the fact that it is YOUR day – people will always be super quick to offer up their “opinion” on what you should have and how the day will go, but ultimately it is the pair of you that have the final say!
