Supplier Spotlight - Megan Lily Flowers!
Good Evening, who are you?
I’m Meg, a professional freelance florist in Bristol. I run my own floristry business Megan Lily Flowers providing gorgeous, inspiring floral designs for weddings and events.
What was the inspiration for Megan Lily Flowers?
I needed a change and have always wanted to be self-employed and run my own small business. I originally trained as a costume and set designer for theatre. I wanted to continue to use my creative and design skills. Retraining as a florist was the perfect fit.
What makes you stand out from the crowd?
I have a very natural, elegant style of floristry. The natural beauty and individual qualities of my flowers are central to my designs. I bring quality and attention to detail into all my work. I provide a personal and informal service and I pride myself in taking the time to really listen to my clients and understand what they want.
What are you tipping as the next “big thing” for weddings?
There is a big move towards very wild and wonderful, informal floral designs for weddings. I would love to create an all foliage wedding with no flowers; just different foliage’s, grasses and berries. This would create a stunning wild and natural look.
Best advice for brides and grooms to be planning their wedding?
Have a look at a florist’s previous work. I think it’s really important that you choose a florist whose style you like. They are more likely to understand what look you are after and be able to provide you with exactly what you want for your day. Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about flowers. If you just have an idea of the overall look you want to achieve for your day your florist will know what flowers to suggest. I love showing couples images of what I am thinking of using for their wedding. They always get very excited and it’s a really nice part of the process.
