Jenny Fleur's Floral Design & Wedding Flowers
Hey there, tell us a little about yourself!
Hi, I’m Jenny, the owner, florist and tea drinker behind Jenny Fleur, a floral design company covering the Three Counties, The Cotswolds and beyond! I love creating natural, seasonal, rustic style designs full of gorgeous scented flowers, herbs and foliage for that freshly picked look. Whether you love the soft romance of vintage style flowers or have your heart set on fun, quirky designs packed with brightly coloured blooms, I will ensure your bespoke wedding truly reflect your personality and style.
Have you seen any trends in the wedding industry recently?
Vintage styles are still high on the agenda but there’s also a demand for wild and whimsical flowers, big flowing bouquets, unusual buttonholes and statement designs like hanging flowers. Another popular trend is the floral crown, whether it’s dainty little wax flowers or big and bold blooms, brides and their girls are rocking the flower crown look!
What inspired you to start your business?
Jenny Fleur was started in 2012 after doing the flowers for friends' weddings and parties just for fun; having always been inspired by the natural world and loving flowers and gardening I was keen to somehow use these passions to get back to being creative; to make my living from working with flowers seemed such a natural decision!
Have you noticed a difference in the weddings from when you started out to now?
Weddings are becoming less of a traditional formal affair and more about reflecting the personality of the bride and groom. Couples are being braver with their colour choices, styles, venues and décor making their day as unique as they are. As a wedding florist this gives me the chance to get creative and I love making unusual designs full of beautiful flowers which really make people smile.
Top tip for couples planning their wedding?
Start looking at flowers a year before your big day, that way you can see what flowers will be in season and looking beautiful. Take inspiration from wedding blogs and all the social media platforms like facebook, Instagram and pinterest – there’s a whole host of talented and creative people out there sharing gorgeous images of all things wedding. Last but not least join in with twitter hours like #bridehour, #weddingoclock and #weddinghour to find fabulous suppliers for your big day.
